Drumin Castle

Only two walls remain of this former stronghold of Alexander Stewart, better known as the "Wolf of Badenoch" (1342 - 1406). It was probably built in the 14th century and was one of three strategically important castles occupied by The Wolf, the others being at Loch an Eilean in Speyside and at Lochindorb on the moors above Grantown on Spey.

Blairfindy Castle

This small castle was built as a hunting seat by the Earl Of Huntly in 1586. The original architectural details of the building can still be seen but it is unfortunately now in a dangerous condition and no access within the surrounding fence is possible.

The Glenlivet Distillery
George Smith established Scotland's first legal distillery at Minmore in 1824.
However business proved so good that in 1858 he was able to build new and larger premises
on the present site. The Visitor Centre building, formerly the grain store and malting, dates from this time.

Craggan Stones
About 300m south of the Craggan,Farm on the B9008 an alcove in the wooden fence houses several flat stones. These once formed the centre of an open air preaching site used by dissenting parishioners at the time of the Disruption of the Church of Scotland in 1843. A plaque gives the history of the place. (Please take care on the narrow road.)

The Speyside Way

This extension to one of Scotland's most attractive Long Distance Footpaths runs from Ballindalloch Station to Tomintoul. Access to and from the Way can be gained at The Glenlivet Distillery, Deskie Farm road and at Tomintoul.
